My experience with hostmonster
" Our site grew and they could not support us anymore and basically they shut us down with no notice. Terrible customer service. When they shut our site down they left a note where anyone who came to our site could see and it said our site had "expired" and we got messages from our sponsors about why we would let it expire and it wasnt our fault. So we called and they said we couldn't be with them anymore. All we wanted was some notice."

Credit card deducted high amount from Hostmonster!
"I received an email from Hostmonster informing me that my host was due for renewal. I then get an email saying they had deducted $107 from my credit card! What happened to their $6.95 per month and why didn't they tell me the amount would be a lot higher. I emailed them asking why this was so much higher ($8.90) and the reply I got was this: Last year, due to customer requests, we purchased additional equipment of higher quality. We also needed to increase our staff and hire on additional developers. The staff change was to prevent long hold times, and assure quick and accurate customer service. We spent a great deal of money and time on a better accounting system, so that we could prevent human error in account activities. Due to all of the changes, we had to increase our rates. We have kept our prices the same for about five years, but could no longer do so with the changes we've made for our customers. No courtesy or professionalism to have informed me first! "

I lost money using Hostmonster
"Hostmonster decided to make some server changes without notifying customers. This change closed a port on two of my websites that precluded a connection between my sites and my gateway merchant account. Buyers received an error message when entering credit card info. No sales could be made for 2 1/2 days and Hostmonster's response was, gee, that was too bad. "

"My hosting account got hacked. Host your site with them if you want yours to be hacked."

Credit card charges
"For the first few weeks the service was fine until rumors of phishing using the site popped up, and upon investigating, noticed that there was about $150 in fraudulent charges on our credit card. Hostmonster was VERY unresponsive to any help to fix the situation and gave contradictory instructions. "
